Ok its been a few years. A few years I waited on purpose for White Wolf to mature their game settings for the new World of Darkness. Now, I'm here again, and I'm back with some storyteller might. What's changed? A lot. Are the games faster? Yes. Are the games balanced? Yes. Does the story make sense? Yes. Does the meta plot come back? Fuck no, thank god. Are there potentials for cross-over campaigns? YES. Is it easy to balance the game for crossovers? YES. Do all the super natural creatures hate each other? No! Why would they? They have no reason to now!
Is the game still somewhat dark, grey, and totally fun? HELL yes! If you want to shoot a nigga in the leg, and kiss your wife on the lips and tell her you love her and she's the light of your dark world ten seconds later - YOU CAN DO IT. You are not 'aligned' and if you want to throw a fireball at someone b/c you hate them - and love them at the same time - go right ahead! No penalties but you losing some morality, lol.
What I'm doing: reading through the Mage sourcebook with rampant fervor. What the plan is: get a Mage the Awakening game going ASAP. I love to write, and fantasy was always my strong suit. Modern fantasy is even more of a strong suit for me. Vampire can be a great game if you like backbiting, and lots of intrigue. Werewolf is a great game if you are an inner savage. The power hungry, over-achievers of th world love Mage. I happen to be one of the latter - so I'm gonna play this game out and see how it floats my boat. That being said - I love intrigue and savagery too - but I have yet to dip my feet into Mage - so I am.
