Yeah I'm a bit drunk at the moment, but I'd like to point out that I fucking love my RSS feeds. A lot. Why? Not because I read them in some compact light-weight newsreader - b/c I don't. I eagerly await an update from them, and cannot hold back satisfaction at the little updates the provide as I click on each one. It's like present every fucking time I click. "Oh wait, an hour ago something changed CLICK" and I go and see. I was tempted to use Safari as my web browser of choice - but I didn't.
Why? It was because RSS feeds are all put in some reader format on Safari. I love Safari as a web browser, but dumped it ASAP as soon as I found out it handled RSS feeds badly. You see, when you put RSS feeds in some sort of fancy news reader it removes its functionality to me. I like looking at RSS feeds fast - which means I see headlines, not 'paragraphs of detail' and I'm not looking for whole blocks of time to sit down and start reading said RSS feeds. I see a story of interest, I click, I read. You have exactly five words to make me interested. Whether its 'Hot chick eats DS smeared in Lobster butter' or 'Apple is your new sex toy' - it doesn't matter - you have that long to make me want your news.
I think that this world realizes that though, and is getting better. I wonder if there is any thing similar to the RSS feed getting like Firefox's bookmark toolbar - drop down menus that make it easy to subscribe to an RSS feed, and check.
Ok, back to listening to sexy DI.FM Chillout Channel and reading Mage...and another voluptuous margarita. That's right, I said it. Bitches. Margarita.

Edit: After much thought, research, and poking around on the web generally speaking - I can say with clarity that Apple's RSS reader is bad. I'm a lover of all things Apple, but I can state that the reader does not save time. You must make time to read it. The RSS reader is located in both Apple Mail (their email application) and Safari (the web browser). I thought for a while I was just using it wrong, but nope, it still doesn't do the trick for me. And yeah, I'm still an RSS whore...
This article details it.
