Firefox 3 is totally effing bad ASS!
Ok I'm just now getting to use this thing, and while I will be downgrading to Firefox 2 here again shortly - I can say without a doubt that this version of Firefox is a HUGE HUGE improvement. The look, the feel, the way it loads are all a bonus. I dunno if I can get used to some of the issues it has so far - but we'll see, maybe I won't downgrade back. So far one of my most handy extensions doesn't work with it yet.
Livejournal "tabbing" in the text box also does not indent, but these are all things that can be fixed in a short while here. I recall upgrading to beta editions of FF before and bitching like a queen on her period. It was not glorious. This release though...it really feels almost done. Soon, we'll see if it have the last items I want fixed - fixed.
EDIT: I had to pull the plug on it, bah. It just will not work right with Livejournal. All the Java, or whatever code they got involved in entering text into this little box is buggered when FF3 is considered in this. Honestly, it can't be helped, but it is annoying nonetheless. I know for a fact that several staff at the Mozilla HQ are touting FF3 as perhaps ready for the prime time...I'm thinking not really. It is polished, and refined, from a basic web-user level. You can use the browser in its Beta form now to handle up on some beginner web usage - but for ADVANCED use...like me...no.
I use a shitload of addons, and like 90% of them break. I was willing to give FF3 that - I knew it would happen. However, I was not ready to have LJ go down in flames on me when I tried to upload a picture. I know this service saves your work, so I didn't worry - but I did worry when I had to think "what if this happens on a text box that DOESN'T save my work?" and such.
So, I'm using good ol' Firefox 2 until 3 is out in the wild, and been slammed up against some sites. It seems this summer...will be probably the most technological summer ever for me...iPhone, new Firefox, perhaps even a new computer if I want...but nah, I like my current Mac, no reason to upgrade yet!
